EVALUATION CENTER

The 3-D evaluation center is open to anyone needing a full or partial psycho-educational evaluation for purposes of diagnoses or for annual academic assessment. Evaluations are provided in the area of cognition, processing, language and achievement. Testing services are available for school age children only, kindergarten through twelfth grade. Assessment results are provided with a completed written report as well as a parent conference with the evaluation team.

The primary goal of the Evaluation Center is to provide a centralized location in South Mississippi that meets all the evaluation needs of parents of children with learning disorders such as dyslexia, to obtain a thorough diagnosis.

Secondary goals are to provide:

1)      pre and post academic assessments for the 3-D School as well as the local home-schoolers.

2)      individual achievement tests for applicants to private schools that have moved from out of state, a homeschooling environment or other situation that didn't provide annual achievement testing.

3)      reevaluation for LD students needing to submit current evaluation to ACT/ SAT or college/university admissions to qualify for accommodations.

4)      gifted testing to qualify for extracurricular out-of-school gifted programs.

Pricing is competitive and varies based on the need of each student. A screening must be completed first to determine which battery of tests will be administered.

The evaluation team consists of

  • Academic Language Therapists
  • Speech/Language Therapists
  • Psychometrists
  • Parents and/or grandparents
  • Teachers

The process is as follows:

  1. Parents and teachers complete questionnaire and checklists.
  2. Parent collects and mails to the Evaluation Center to be scored.
  3. 3-D calls to set an appointment for screening (hearing, vision, language and phonological screening).
  4. After screening, parents will call to set an appointment for testing.
  5. When all tests are scored and a report has been written, an appointment will be set for a parent conference to discuss results of evaluation.
